as "Chris In The Morning"(Northern Exposure), and just ...followed his lead?

Yes, it was. And it debuted at wfmu.org on The Sheena's Jungle Room stream, last June. 
 
This original version of

the mix is being remixed, for syndication, but the original version will remain here, for die-hard fans of "Northern Exposure."

 

The final mix will feature fewer songs from the show's soundtrack, making room for more Rock, Rhythm and Blues.
