Radio Math

Producing for KBOO this week, and just did some math, so I’m gonna humble brag a bit…

Since 2017, I have produced over 250 hours of radio!?

Since returning to community broadcasting, I’ve hosted or produced over 150 segments and/or episodes for a public affairs program called The Old Mole Variety Hour, at KBOO, and conceived and produced a new program at WFMU called Radio Retrofit.

There are 26 hours of Radio Retrofit, in fact, and those episodes involve a lot of seriously heavy lifting, as an editor. My happy place, in other words.

And speaking of the artful edit... there have been over 75 NEW episodes of Some Assembly Required as well, since 2020, also at WFMU, on Sheena’s Jungle Room stream. I really didn’t see that coming and couldn’t be more pleased.

Hundreds of hours of radio which wouldn’t have existed without the encouragement of community radio and friends of community radio. A big part of what’s gotten me through the darkness of this past decade.

You can find The Old Mole Variety Hour at kboo.fm and my own programs are archived here at awphooey.com, with special thanks to WFMU, who are literally the best. Hands down.
