It's been an exciting week, for Radio Retrofit...

I'd been trying to share a note, about the new Venus Flytrap episode, with a social media group that has WKRP as its focus, ever since finishing production earlier this year. The group is one I've found to be populated by many radio professionals and hobbyists, plus everyone in between (like me, I guess!), who just love radio. And with some help, that finally happened.
The new stats are telling me over 100,000 stories, and I couldn't be more excited about it. It's still being shared, too. I've enjoyed lots of good feedback, a small write up in a magazine, and I've even been asked to appear on a radio program tomorrow, to talk all about it. Feels like pretty big time stuff, for me!

Now I'm considering next steps, and grateful for the new listeners. Will probably shift my focus back to editing a new Radio Retrofit, in fact, right away, rather than waiting a few months, just for this reason. The new episode will be a little something from 1978. It's going to be a lot of trial and error, as usual, but I am UP for it... I absolutely adore a good editing challenge.
I've got a few ideas I've been exploring at wfmu, on the Sheena's Jungle Room stream, where I'm part of a collective show called The Wiggle Room. You can hear my various radio ideas presented there, along with shows by Mark Time (vintage radio airchecks) (real ones! ha), and Krys O - also known as Sister Krys, longtime member of The Church of the Subgenius (and wfmu alum, 1985-1991). You can check all of this out every Tuesday evening at 8pm (east coast), on The Sheena's Jungle Room stream.

PS The new zine needs only a couple of small changes, but I've seen a rough printing test and like it! I think its ready... I'll finally put it out this Fall. Very excited... Not a radio project, but maybe you'll find it interesting, anyway. It's observations and stories about movie theaters, largely. Just this first issue, anyway. Stay tuned!
To conclude: Welcome, new listeners! And thanks to the originals, for helping me get the word out about Radio Retrofit. More soon, thanks! - Jon Nelson
