25 years ago, Some Assembly Required was preparing to go on the air in Minneapolis, for the first time.
To promote the upcoming debut, practically every “specialty show” at kuom had me on to talk about it.
A condensed remix of these appearances, including the sound collages played on each show, was the least I could do to mark the occasion,

FYI: The 2-hour mix playing here is what debuted at WFMU, in 2026.
The podcast versions of this special (Episodes 326 and 327), are slightly different, so as not to confuse syndicating station audiences (with the many station identifications, referencing my college radio station).
Psst... There's a much longer version for those of you who want to get an even better idea, what Radio K's specialty shows were like, at the time. There were hours of material recorded - and I couldn't resist putting all the music back in and adding some of my favorite kuom production elements from 2001.
